BetaPrivate beta is open. Teams are onboarded in stages.

A real Linux computer that keeps its state.

A dock is an isolated Ubuntu machine with durable identity. Your agent installs what it needs, runs services, and comes back to the same machine on the next task instead of rebuilding the world.

Full Ubuntu with root
systemd, package managers, runtimes, and Docker inside the guest, behind a VM-class isolation boundary from other workloads and the host.
Durable identity
A dock keeps its ID and working state across archive and resume, so tasks can pick up where the last run stopped.
Preinstalled toolchain
Docker, VS Code, Chrome, GitHub CLI, Node.js, Bun, Rust, and agent CLIs such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode come ready on the machine.
Stopped means no compute charge
Archive an idle dock and keep its filesystem. Active compute is billed by time and class; snapshot storage is shown separately.

Questions

Is a dock a container or a virtual machine?

Standard and Premium docks are Firecracker microVMs on KVM bare metal. The Nano tier runs on shared container capacity with a best-effort SLO.

Can I SSH into a dock?

Yes. Docks expose SSH and SCP alongside the REST API, typed SDKs, and the dock CLI.
